Homemade Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Rinse strawberries and pat dry with paper towels. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Turn off the heat and set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Clean strawberries: Scroll down to see how best to do this.
Lay the strawberries on prepared baking sheet and allow them to rest until the chocolate has set.
Place chocolate in a bowl set over (not in) a saucepan of simmering water.
DIP berry in sprinkles, decorating sugar, or coconut if desired. Rinse strawberries and pat dry with paper towels. Grab the leaves of the strawberry and dip in the chocolate, rolling it to coat evenly.
